Check out reviews of some of the hot new shows that have been sparking people’s interest. These shows include ‘Believe’ on NBC, ‘Resurrection’ on ABC, and ‘Sirens’ on USA.

Then, comment and let us know what you think of the new shows. Which one is your favorite?

‘Believe’

Fans of shows like “Kyle XY” and “Supernatural” should tune into “Believe,” a new show which airs on NBC on Sunday nights. “Believe” profiles a young girl, Bo, who has psychic and telekinetic powers. Bo is being protected and hidden from an institution that wishes to exploit her powers for their own purposes.Believe

When those who are protecting her need extra help, they turned to convict William Tate to keep her safe. However, both Tate and Bo are unaware that William is her father. The show follows Bo and William as they race around the U.S. to keep Bo safe from the leaders of the institution.

The good: “Believe” isn’t just about Bo’s special powers, it’s also about the way she uses them to help people. Contrary to her selfish, death row inmate father, Bo always strives to do what is right, usually while cleaning up after her dad. Paired with the action elements of the show, car chases, explosions, and of course the occasional supernatural occurrence, “Believe” does not fail to be entertaining.

The bad: I find the acting in “Believe” to be a little hard to believe at times, especially from the two main characters. Unfortunately, I find the minor characters to be more convincing and entertaining than the two characters viewers have to watch the whole time.

The recommendation: “Believe” is definitely for science fiction, fantasy, and action fans. However, unless you’re a huge fan, I would say that you can wait to find it on Netflix or Hulu during your free time.

‘Resurrection’

Watch out fans of “Heroes” and “Once Upon a Time,” your favorite show may have an up-and-coming competitor. “Resurrection,” a new show that airs on ABC on Sunday nights, profiles residents in the small town of Arcadia, Missouri, as their deceased loved ones return from the dead, unchanged since the days they died. The show narrates the stories of different families, the tragedies they have experienced in the past, and how they cope with their loved ones returning to them after so many years.tv-show-resurrection-abc-S1-poster-1

The good: The concept for “Resurrection” in it of itself is extremely interesting. It’s even better to get to watch it progress through the plotline of the show. With elements of mystery, suspense, and raw emotion, this show keeps viewers on the edge of their seats with every episode.

The bad: “Resurrection” can be a little slow at times. I found myself more interested in my Twitter feed than in the show at some points in various episodes. However, “Resurrection” is a new show, and sometimes it can take a while to establish the plotline before things really get going.

The recommendation: “Resurrection” is for fans of the fantasy genre. I would recommend keeping up with this show as the episodes premiere, as long as you can afford to stay up late on Sunday nights.

‘Sirens’

Fans of Scrubs and E.R., sad that your favorite hospital shows are over? Have no fear, “Sirens” is here! “Sirens,” a new show which airs on USA on Thursday nights, is a hilarious new show that follows around three EMTs as they save lives while trying to figure out their own. sirens-300x198

The show’s two main characters Johnny and Hank are joined by rookie EMT Brian. The hilarious trio manage to turn what would usually be a stressful livelihood into an enjoyable time for both those involved and those watching.

The good: “Sirens” will keep the laughs coming. I had low expectations before I watched the show, as I have been disappointed with many of the other sitcoms that have recently aired, but “Sirens” spectacularly exceeded my expectations. Within the first five minutes of the first episode, I was laughing out loud and I didn’t stop for the remainder of the episodes that I watched.

The bad: Due to some of the mature comedic content, “Sirens” is definitely not a show to watch with your parents if you want to avoid any awkward moments. Also, it may not be the best choice of show to put on when your little siblings are around.

The recommendation: “Sirens” is for fans of medical shows like Scrubs, Grey’s Anatomy, and E.R., as well as fans of the comedy genre. Since it can be hard to carve out time on a school night to watch your favorite show, “Sirens” is a perfect show to binge-watch on a lazy Saturday.
