I was impressed with your newscast – a terrific start to working on camera. Some ideas for future newscasts.
1. Consider getting some sports highlights on video or some post-game interviews with the players … a short soundbite or visual clip.
2. Consider taping a “man-on-the-street” interview segment & ask random JC students (or teachers) to comment on various topics … another short soundbite. Or a taped feature to hightlight someone who has earned a button (have the person who gave it tell why).
3. Straight announcements are a challenge to make interesting. May want to break them up, or consider taping random students each reading a single announcement.
4. May want to consider using projected computer slides as a kind of telepromter so that the onscreen personalities don’t have to look down to read.
