Southhampton, United Kingdom - This past week, the ashes of the final survivor of the RMS Titanic were spread from the terminal the ship originally set sail from. Milvina Dean was just nine weeks old when the famous ship sank in the Atlantic on April 15, 1912. Dean, along with her mother, father, and 2 year old brother, travelled on the Titanic from Southhampton, England in hopes of starting a better life in Kansas City. Her father perished in the tragedy. Dean died on May 31, 2009.

Las Vegas, Nevada – 19-year-old Bjorn Halvard Knappskog from Norway won the title of Monopoly World Champion on Thursday at Ceasers Palace in Las Vegas. The Monopoly World Championship is held periodically in different locations around the world. Players from 41 different countries took part in the tournament. Knappskog took home $20,580 in winnings from the tournament. The final game took only 45 minutes, as games at the championship use different rules to speed up play.

Moscow, Russia – A circus performing bear attacked two Russian circus workers during a rehearsal for a show in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The bear killed the circus administrator and mauled one animal trainer. The incident was reported on Friday by officials in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The group was rehearsing in Bishkek for an upcoming performance of their show “Bears on Ice.” The bear that attacked the two workers was shot and killed, even though he was originally expected to perform at the show.
